My first introduction to Dr. Duane Keller was at his Perio Protect Certification meeting in Las Vegas. My good friend and consultant, Bob Maccario said it was a meeting I just had to go to. As I sat in the seminar, I was mesmerized by the science I was hearing from a dentist. Then I realized that Dr. Duane Keller is no ordinary dentist. I heard him speak in terms of periodontal cellular science in a manner that made sense and was easy to understand. I left the seminar convinced that this was the most important information I had ever heard in my 40 years of dental learning. It was and is ground breaking science leading to the treatment of periodontal disease.
When my periodontally disease patients began accepting the Perio Protect treatment method, I immediately began to see a reduction in bleeding and a firm, pink tissue tone. As the Perio Protect treatment progressed, I began to see a reduction in pocket depths. One patient in particular had seven six-millimeter pocket depths and one eight-millimeter pocket depth along with many five and four millimeter depths and severe bleeding. He refused to be treated by a periodontist. He faithfully wore his custom trays with the Periogel and Doxycycline. After a few months, the six-millimeter depths reduced to three millimeters, and after a few more months, the eight-millimeter depth reduced to four millimeters. He is still a work in progress. I continually see similar results in my patients who religiously wear their Perio Protect trays.
I use the science I learned from Dr. Keller on a daily basis as I discuss periodontal disease with my patients. My hygienists are all convinced that this is the ultimate treatment with perio therapy patients, and are enthusiastically talking to their patients about the real cause of periodontal disease and the Perio Protect method of treatment.
I have discovered that Dr. Duane Keller is not only a brilliant scientist, but also a genuine, down to earth human being. As I have gotten to know Duane over the years, he undoubtedly is one of the nicest persons I have had the pleasure to know.
Congratulations Dr. Keller. You are deserving of this recognition.
With Sincere Gratitude for your unselfish gift to dentistry,
